#TFIOSMusic livestream full of stars and music

The #TFIOSMusic livestream started at 9 p.m. EST Wednesday and it promised to be filled with surprises. Host Tyler Oakley started off the show by introducing Shailene and Ansel, who talked a bit about the movie and how important the soundtrack is to the overall movie. Then they introduce Charli XCX. She and her band and got the party going by performing "Boom Clap" and "Superlove."
Tyler then brought on our favorite trio Shailene, Ansel and Nat. They talked about chemistry and rhythm between the three of them as well as the dreaded question about Shai and Ansel going from "brother to lover." Shailene revealed that when she found out she was going to play Hazel she cried a lot. Ansel felt a sense of fear because he believed playing Augustus is a big deal and he didn't want to mess that up. Nat said when he found out he was going to be Isaac he wondered why he wasn't blond, which would've saved him being spammed on Twitter asking about blond hair.
Tyler interviewed Charli XCX and asked about her involvement in the soundtrack and filming "Boom Clap" video in Amsterdam. Group Love performed "Let Me In" and "Ways To Love" then were interviewed by Tyler about their music video and touring.
John Green came out, with his fancy blue and green sock, and talked to Tyler about never expecting this much success for his book. He also talked about how he and Hank Green just want to make their parents proud. Ed Sheeran started his performance with "Sing," encouraging the crowd to sing along with him. We totally sang "Oooh Ooh" from our home.
We saw the egg-throwing scene. John came back on with Ansel, Shai, and Nat and talked about filming that scene and how it took 137 and a half eggs to film it. After Ed Sheeran came back on and sang an acoustic version of "All Of The Stars," making everyone emotional. The night ended with Tyler interviewing Ed about his song, new album and tour. It was one epic livestream and you can rewatch it below!

John Green hosts TFIOS Hangout livestream

On Thursday evening, John partnered up with 20th Century Fox and hosted a livestream on YouTube. He answer questions fan sent in with the hashtag #TFIOSHangout. These were some of the highlights:

John’s cameo: Although many wanted to see John act in the TFIOS, his cameo got cut from the movie, probably due to timing issues. John said that he felt truly delighted and relieved his part got cut. “I don’t want to be an actor,” he said. However, he felt bad about that the little girl, who played his daughter on screen, would be cut out too.

TFIOS trailer: John said that he never expected the response the trailer has gotten. He thinks that it is bananas the trailer has more than 10 million views and almost 200,000 likes. “Only movies like Iron Man get a lot of (trailer) views,” he said. He also told viewers that he was really nervous the day the trailer was released. However, was so happy of the response of viewers and fans. The trailer reaction videos fans created and posted made him cry because it showed him how much people care about this story.

Hardest scene and favorite chapter: A fan asked John what was the hardest part of the book to write. He responded that there weren’t many easy parts to write. It got really hard toward the end. However, when he looked through the book, he said it was the scene when Gus was at a Speedway gas station late at night. He said it was amazing to see that scene being filmed. His favorite chapter in TFIOS is chapter 20 (SPOILER: It is the pre-funeral chapter).

No sequel or AIA: John sadly said there would be no TFIOS sequel, or from Gus’s point of view. Also he would never try to attempt to write An Imperial Affliction. I guess that’s why fan fiction exists?

TFIOS isn’t just a story about sick people: When a fan asked John how he would convince a non-TFIOS reader to read the book or watch the movie, John didn’t know what to answer. He said that even though TFIOS is a sad story, it is not just that. TFIOS is meant to show that people who are sick are very much alive and active. John said that disease is not something that should be minimized to other kinds of struggle and he wanted to write about that. The point of writing this book was to make three funny kids that are living a rich, full life, but who have disease as an obstacle.

Ansel livestream celebrates 100,000 Twitter followers

On Tuesday evening Ansel conducted a livestream in honor of his 100,000 Twitter followers. He talked about his music and Ansolo, Divergent, living in New York City and The Fault in our Stars. Here are some highlights:

Filming in Amsterdam: Ansel stated that filming TFIOS in Amsterdam was great and beautiful. They had one hard scene but the rest was strolls around the city and its famous canals.

Upcoming Projects: Ansel reveal that he has two new films he has signed onto, but he can't reveal too much. One will start filming in December/January, just right before promo for Divergent starts. Insurgent will begin filming right after Divergent premieres. The second unknown project will start filming late 2014.

Working on TFIOS: He said that TFIOS has been the best project he has worked on so far in his career. TFIOS is his favorite book. He said that being able to work with Shailene in another project was awesome because she is a great actress. Working with Nat Wolff was another highlight of TFIOS for Ansel. He said working with Nat was a lot of fun. He also was amazed that he got to work with Willem Dafoe, who was cool.

Cool fact: Josh Boone, director who in the editing process, told Ansel that he is very happy with what he has seen so far of the movie.

TFIOS in Gus POV: Although there is no plans to write TFIOS from Gus' point of view, Ansel said that it would be awesome if John Green ever decided to write it. John apparently learned a lot about Augustus Waters when he saw Ansel as Gus because John had never had to think about Gus' backstory and POV.

Ansel ended the live stream by thanking his 100,000 Twitter followers. He said that he never though 100,000 people would care about Ansel Elgort.
