John Green went on The Bob & Tom show on Friday morning to talk The Fault In Our Stars, book and movie.
He talked about selling the movie rights of TFIOS to a great group of people that really care about the project. John was able to go to set and helped a bit in casting.
During the interview John also revealed that he almost named "The Fault In Our Stars," "The Sequel." At the time he thought that "The Sequel" would be a great title because it represented Hazel and Gus' obsession of figuring out what happens after "An Imperial Affliction." However, he said that looking back, that title would have been disastrous.
In the interview, he also revealed that there is a lot of music in the movie, but he doesn't know who's music.
"I don't know how that stuff happens. Also I don't know many contemporary artists," he said. "So when I was watching the movie I was like, 'This is good,' and they were like, 'Oh, this person is very famous,' and I was like 'I have no idea.'"
John is sad to reveal that there won't be any Beach Boys or his favorite band, The Mountain Goat, in TFIOS. But he will try his hardest to get them in Paper Towns, which he is executive producing.
Check out the entire great interview below. Thank you to The Bob & Tom Show.
